Teachers provide feedback on their salaries and jobs


This report describes the percentage of teachers who are satisfied with their salary for teaching and compares the job satisfaction of teachers who are satisfied and dissatisfied with their teaching salary.

During the 2015-16 school year, public school teachers were asked how much they agreed or disagreed with the statement “I am satisfied with my teaching salary” (Strongly agree; somewhat agree; somewhat disagree; strongly disagree). Overall, 45 percent of teachers were satisfied with their salary, and 55 percent were dissatisfied.

This report uses data from the 2015-16 National Teacher and Principal Survey.
